afterlife care

There are many options available for the afterlife care of your loved one. You may want to review these options and discuss them with family or friends prior to our visit.
In San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, we have a cremation weight limit of 80 lbs. If your pet weighs more, you will need to discuss special arrangements with us.

  • COMMUNAL: Your pet is cremated with others and cremains are not returned.
  • INDIVIDUAL: Your pet’s exclusive cremains are returned to you.
  • WITNESSED: You are present to observe the cremation process.
    ( Pet’s Rest in Colma is the nearest facility to offer this option. )
  • AQUAMATION (alkaline hydrolysis): A water-based cremation that mimics the natural process of decomposition. (You can learn more about “aquamation” by clicking here. )

We use the professional and respected services of Animal Memorial Service based in Gilroy, California.

Individual Cremation ashes are returned to you within one or two weeks by UPS with “signature required” on delivery. Please refer to the Animal Memorial Service website for urn options. Your choice of one of the “Standard Urns” is already included in the cost of cremation.

Communal Cremation ashes are spread at sea with other pets’ cremains by Oceans of Love in San Diego.
